Epoxy Flooring in Aurora, Ontario
Aurora is a town of two halves when it comes to concrete. The established neighbourhoods around Yonge Street, Town Park, Aurora Heights and Regency Acres have garage slabs that have been through decades of salt and freeze cycles without ever being sealed. The newer developments on the east side and out toward Bayview have slabs in good shape that are worth protecting before the damage starts.
We work on both, and the approach is genuinely different.

Why Aurora Homeowners Coat Their Concrete

Older garage slabs can usually be saved
Dusting, pitting and flaking at the surface is salt damage, and it is common across Aurora's older neighbourhoods. Most of these slabs are still recoverable. Grinding removes the damaged layer, patching rebuilds the profile and the coating seals it. Replacing the slab is rarely necessary.

New builds are worth sealing early
If your slab is only a few years old and still sound, coating it now is the cheapest it will ever be. There is no damage to repair, so preparation is straightforward and the job moves faster. You are paying for the floor rather than for fixing the floor first.

Basements that stay dry and clean
A seamless epoxy or flake basement floor handles humidity, wipes clean, and has no grout lines or seams for damp to collect in. Popular for gyms, rec rooms and workshops. We test basement slabs for moisture first, because that is where high readings turn up most often.

A long winter on the north end of the region
Aurora sits far enough north in York Region to get a genuinely long salt season. Four or five months of brine coming off tires onto an unsealed floor does cumulative damage every year. Sealed concrete does not absorb any of it.
